Delete your account
You can delete your CinemaxAfrica account at any time, from the app or from this page. Deletion is permanent once the 30-day grace period ends.
From the app
- 1Open CinemaxAfrica and sign in.
- 2Go to Profile, then Settings.
- 3Under Danger Zone, tap Delete Account.
- 4Type DELETE to confirm.
Without the app
Email support@cinemaxafrica.com from the address on your account, with the subject Account deletion request. We will confirm within 30 days.
You have 30 days to change your mind
Your account is deactivated as soon as you request deletion, and erased 30 days later. Signing in again before then cancels the deletion and restores your account. After 30 days it cannot be recovered.
What is permanently deleted
- Your profile — name, email, phone number and photo
- Your wallet and any remaining balance
- Your watch history and watchlist
- Your reviews and ratings
- Your messages in cinema room chats
- Your notifications
What we keep, and why
Nigerian tax and financial rules require us to retain transaction records. These are stripped of anything identifying you.
- Payment records
- Kept for tax and refund purposes, with your name and account removed so they no longer identify you.
- Ticket records
- Kept so attendance figures for past screenings stay accurate, with your name and account removed.
Any remaining wallet balance is forfeited on deletion — withdraw or spend it first if you want to keep it. Questions? Email support@cinemaxafrica.com.
